Michigan’s Democratic governor, Jennifer Mulhern Granholm, has announced that the Michigan Economic Development Corporation is helping five companies expand in the state, creating 3,070 jobs and $138 million in new investment.
The projects include a bio-based chemical company; a health care manufacturing start-up; and redevelopment that will transform abandoned and contaminated sites into new facilities.
Formed in 1999, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation serves as a one-stop resource for business retention, expansion and relocation projects.
