Northrop Gruman, the aerospace company behind the stealth bomber and the F/A-18 fighter, announced that it is moving its corporate headquarters from Los Angeles to Washington DC. Northrop currently employs approximately 27,000 people in Southern California but says only a handful of corporate jobs will be moving, leaving the rest of its operations in the area intact.

California Governor Schwarzenegger said in a statement through spokeswoman Camille Anderson “While the governor would like to see every company locate every employee in the state, we agree that Northrop Grumman’s 30,000 California employees and the state will be more strongly supported by moving this limited number of personnel closer to the company’s major customers”

Northrop has operations in all 50 states and around the globe, employing a total of over 120,000 people.
