Home Depot Inc. will cut approximately 1,000 jobs and close three underperforming “pilot” stores, the company announced Tuesday.
The stores that will be closing are located in Wilson, N.C., Waveland, Miss., and Austell, Ga. They will result in the loss of 100 jobs.
The remaining 900 job losses are the result of the company merging its human resources, finance and real-estate and construction functions. Home Depot has more than 300,000 employees and 2,245 stores worldwide.
