Wyndham Vacation Ownership to Lay Off 83 in Florida

Wyndham Vacation Ownership, a time-share company based in Florida, announced that it will lay off 83 employees. The company is hoping this move will help them cut costs. The lay offs will occur at a call center facility in Margate, Florida. Employees will receive notice beginning in April 2010. Call center functions in Margate will be consolidated at the company’s Orland headquarters. Margate employees will not be offered relocation packages but may be considered for jobs in Orland if they relocate on their own. Last year the company cut 50 jobs at the Palm-Aire resort and 20 at the Royal Vista property in Pompano Beach.
