An announcement was made Tuesday night that the human services department will be cutting 125 jobs in Iowa due to state budget cuts. The initial figure was projected to be around 500 jobs, so the announcement comes as relatively good news.
A budget bill was approved 30-19 in favor of spending approximately $950 million for the Department of Human Services, Department of Public Health, Department on Aging, Veterans Affairs, and the Iowa Veterans Home.
The budget bill has set increased funding for the following: state juvenile homes, home visits for health care for Iowans over 55, the civil commitment unit for sex offenders, adoption subsidies, and the treatment of Iowans with drug and gambling addictions.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
