Albany Private-Sector Job Loss Rate Dramatically Declines

Based on new employment data released on Thursday, the rate at which jobs are being lost in Albany, New York has seen a sharp decline.This data provides a strong indication that the worst of the recession has passed for the region.
Labor department analyst James Ross said “It’s not like there’s a switch where it was really bad but now it’s really good. But we have turned that corner.” He continued, “We are well outperforming our average month-to-month job growth [from previous years].”
the unemployment rate in March was 7.2%, the second consecutive month a decline has been experienced.
