USAA San Antonio Drops 109

The United Services Automobile Association (USAA) is laying off 109 employees in their San Antonio, Texas corporate office.The layoffs are scheduled to begin June 18 and be completed by July 6.
“This is about providing exceptional service to our members in the most efficient way possible while making the transition as manageable as possible for our employees who have served our association,” said Paul Berry, USAA spokesman. “After a lengthy process review and evaluation of third-party providers, the decision to outsource inbound mail operations was made in January 2010, at which time affected employees were informed.”
USAA is a member-owned financial services company that markets insurance, investments, banking services, and financial planning.
