More than 1,000 employees were laid off at the bankrupt St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan.
A statement released by the hospital said “St. Vincent’s Hospital is deeply grateful for their years of dedication and service, especially during these difficult times.”
A job fair is being held Thursday and Friday for the displaced staff in hopes to find them employment in a timely manner.
Lawyer Yetta Kurland is filing a lawsuit against the hospital for shutting down operations before receiving approval from the State Department of Health, a violation of state law.
“That is unthinkable, and we need to immediately stop that,” said Ms. Kurland.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
