JP Morgan Chase Adding 275 Mortgage Lenders

JP Morgan Chase & Co. will hire 275 home mortgage lenders over the next six months at its Texas branch locations, which is largely the result of an improving housing market.

The Dallas Business Journal reports 125 of the new hires will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A statement by Jim Gerritsen, manager of Chase’s home lending team in Texas indicated the hires are the result of a recovering housing market.

“We want to make sure we have seasoned mortgage professionals to help our customers,” said Jim Gerritsen, manager for Chase’s home lending team in Texas, in a statement. “We know home loans are core to our relationship with consumers and especially important as the housing market begins to recover.”

Chase, which has 613 bank branches throughout Texas, plans to hire 125 people in North Texas, 100 in Houston and 25 each in San Antonio and Austin.
