Outsourcing Company in S.D. to Furlough 100

Skyes Enterprises Inc. has announced plans to furlough 100 employees from their call center in Bismarck, South Dakota.

Around 250 employees work at the Bismarck call center which opened in 1996, so the decision affects about 40% of the workforce.

The company’s recent loss of a major contract was cited as the impetus for necessitating the action.

Skyes notified officials back in April of the intended layoffs which they are now moving to execute.

As described on their website, “SYKES is a global leader in providing customer contact management solutions and services in the business process outsourcing (BPO) arena. SYKES provides an array of sophisticated customer contact management solutions to Fortune 1000 companies around the world, primarily in the communications, financial services, healthcare, technology and transportation and leisure industries.
