The number of teacher layoffs the San Francisco Unified School District was initially planning has been tentatively reduced.
The agreement was reached between representatives from the teachers union and officials from the school district on Tuesday night.
“We are grateful to have arrived at this conceptual agreement and look forward to finalizing the details so that we can let more of our teachers know their jobs are secure,” said Superintendent Carlos Garcia.
If a ratified agreement is not reached by May 15, state law would force final layoff notices to be sent to approximately 350 teachers. The conceptual agreement that was reached on Tuesday stands to rescind 150 of those layoffs.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
