Seeking to automate many of its services, the tech giant Hewlett Packard announced plans today to cut 9,000 jobs by 2013, says InformationWeek. The shift will cost the company $1 billion over the next several years due to severance and other costs but, as the company reports, will eventually save it the same gross amount per year going forward.
