Plastic cup giant Solo Cup Co. has announced plans to begin shutting down a manufacturing plant in Baltimore County that employs 551 workers. The process will be a long one, and is set to be completed by March of 2012.
Solo, an Illinois-based company, will be closing two other locations as part of a restructuring plan to consolidate efforts in North America.
The company released its layoff schedule to the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Monday.
Solo Cup, one of the largest makers of paper products in North America, first announced the layoffs in June of this year.
