From executive assistants to computer programmers to financial analysts, Citigroup is looking to hire some 2,000 workers according to indeed.com.
The majority of the jobs are centered around the companies New York headquarters, however, New Jersey, Tampa, and Irving, Texas are also taking in some of the new employees. Around half of the jobs are said to pay a minimum of $70,000.
This is a positive sign of the times, as the company announced a reduction of one-seventh of their massive workforce in November of 2008, amounting to 50,000 people being laid off.
There are doubts that the bank will ever be restored to its former size. Cathy Farley of consulting firm Accenture commented, “A lot of companies lacked the organizational agility to respond to the recession… Companies are now organizing themselves more flexibly.”
