Hitachi will be creating 145 new jobs at its new plant in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
The jobs will be made possible from the $48 million invested in the new manufacturing facility and will be filled over the course of the next three years.
The plant will be devoted exclusively to manufacturing electronic features for the automotive industry.
“The products that we will be producing in the new facility are engine and transmission electronic controllers and direct injection fuel system products,” said Craig Fisher, Hitachi’s vice president of human resources.
Gov. Steve Beshear stated that Hitachi is one of 416 productive companies in the automotive-related industry based in Kentucky — supporting 64,500 jobs statewide.
