Wausaukee Composites is bringing 200 manufacturing jobs to Cuba City, Wis. The company said Thursday it is reopening its plant in the small community that was earlier shut down because of the sluggish economy.
Not only is the company reopening the wind turbine manufacturing plant, but will increase its size by 39,000 square feet, according to a local report on Channel3000.com.
Gov. Jim Doyle said the state is entering into a partnership with Wausaukee Composites through a $1.5 million forgivable loan that will be provided as jobs are added.
The Cuba City facility was opened by Wausaukee Composites in 2008, but was later closed and 90 workers were laid off because of the recession. The company plans to begin production next month and have all the positions filled by the end of the year.
