The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has invited 34 companies to present their business plans at an Industry Growth Forum next month. Coupled with federal support for green jobs, investments in the new companies will undoubtedly translate into the creation of green jobs in the U.S.
The Growth Forum has facilitated the raising of $3.4 billion since 2oo3, all the more impressive considering this was done under a presidency that was not a friend to environmental innovation.
A few of the technologies being showcased include a flexible, paper-thin, non-toxic cellulose-based battery, solar-powered air conditioning, and a carbon-based solution for capturing and re-using waste heat.
