More Layoffs in Johnstown, PA | TravelingCrossing

DRS Laurel Technologies, a defense contractor which operates a plant in Richland Township near Johnstown, PA, announced 50 layoffs today. These layoffs come on the heels of four previous rounds of job cuts since February of 2009. Since that time about 350 people out of a workforce of 900 have lost their jobs.

Senior Vice President Richard Goldberg said that the most recent cuts were due to the completion of an unspecified number of current contracts as well as general efficiency efforts.

DRS Laurel Technologies makes computerized control units for military vehicles.
